Rates of Service:
Individual session = $165           

Couple and family session= $180           

Diagnostic Interview/Initial visit= $225
Missed Appointment= $90
Group Psychotherapy= $80

Types of Payment:

Before we meet please call your insurance provider to see what your benefits for outpatient mental health visits are covered. Ask your insurance company about their "out-of-network coverage', yearly deductible, percentage they will reimburse, and whether a prior authorization is needed. We can discuss this at your first visit. Please note that regardless of your insurance's reimbursement rate, you will be responsible for the full fee. Additionally, I am not responsible for unpaid insurance claims.   Due to my status as a non-Medicare provider, I am unable to accept persons into my practice who are covered by Medicare (either as primary or secondary). I accept cash, checks, and credit cards.

I am in network with Aetna, Beacon, Blue Cross Blue Shield:Blue  Advantage, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield: Blue Options, Blue Cross Blue Shield: Blue Select, Blue Cross Blue Shield North Carolina State Health Plan, Blue Cross Blue Shield: Classic Blue, Multiplan, Optum, UBH, and United Healthcare. I also participate with many Employment Assistance Programs (EAP).

I am an out of network provider for all other insurance plans, meaning that our work together is covered. Health insurance policies usually provide some out-of-network coverage for mental health treatment. It is common for insurance companies to reimburse a percentage of what they consider as an allowable amount or fee. Typically, insurance providers reimburse 60%-90% of what they consider to be an allowable amount or fee. It may not cost you more to get out of network or the difference may be slight. If you want to know more exact information, it is best for you to contact your insurance company.

​Sliding Scale:

I offer a sliding scale for various reasons. We can discuss this at your first visit. If your finances are interfering with your access to therapy, I encourage you to talk to me to discuss possible options.  I offer a limited number of recurring appointments at a variety of rates. Priority is given to current or returning clients who are undergoing financial hardships. I will discuss this on a case by case basis with each patient so we can come to an agreement about a fee that s/he can afford.  

​Cancellations:

If you need to cancel your appointment, please do so 24 hours in advance. If you miss a session with less than 24 yours notice, we can attempt to reschedule the session in the same week. If the session cannot be rescheduled and there was not 24 hours notice, I will need to charge you the fee for the missed session. A charge of the full session is applied when appointments are missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice. Missed sessions are not billable to insurance and will be charged. 

Cancellations Due to Weather:

If weather conditions are dangerous, I will waive the fee for last-minute cancellations. However, I encourage clients to try videoconferencing or phone sessions when weather conditions prevent you from attending in person.
